John Ebersberger's portrait workshop

I took a John Ebersberger's two-day impressionistic portrait workshop two weeks ago. These are what I did in the workshop.

First a color sketch done by palette knife:

The portrait:

His is a very different way to paint. I'm still trying to absorb what he taught. Of course the main point is about color. Ebersberger studied with Henry Henche in Cape Cod school years ago. They did a lot of color block studies and "mud head" studies, mostly using palette knife. It's a very impressionistic way to paint.

John Ebersberger's portrait. Great outdoor colors.
