Crabfest - SOLD

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Crabfest, 24x12

First time tried to paint crabs--not that easy. First of all, they are not all red. Second, it's very tempting to eat them. Paint fast before they spoil and the light changes too much. But it was a super fun learning experience.

Teapot with Pomegranate

Teapot with Pomegranate, 12 x 16

I bought this teapot in Goodwill on the weekend, and it goes with a small cup I got in another Goodwill years ago. Several times I was going to get rid of the little cup because I had no use for it, but it finally found its match!

Veggies and Olive oil

Veggies and Olive oil, 12 x 16

I went out and bought a bunch of groceries, and set up a still life. It was fun--trying to set up something a little more complicated. I watched Quang Ho's DVD on still-life painting and was greatly inspired. Learned a lot from watching him paint.

Back in the Saddle

Well, it's been a long while--pregnancy and caring for a new baby kept me away from painting. Now the baby is over 4 months old, I finally managed to find a little time to paint.

Gorman Farm, 9 x 12. The very first painting I did after not touching a paintbrush for 10 months!

Tersiguel's, 14 x 11. I was attracted by the warm light on the white wall of the building.

Feels good to be back in the saddle and painting again. I'm obsessed with C.W. Mundy's paintings right now. I need to paint more!
